Perhaps the teacher might not know whether the child is short sighted or long sighted therefore he/she should observe how the students copy work from the board and when the way they read in the seats they occupy at present. Research has proven that people who are long-sighted are unable to focus on near objects, making reading difficult and short sightedness on the other hand is when the eyeball may be too long and it causes problems with focusing on distant objects. Further research has shown that the object appear blurred because light from objects are focused in front of the retina and the image is blurry. In this instance the long sighted students should be place further at the back of the class and the short sighted should be accommodated closer to the board. In these cases the teacher should report to the parents and let the child have their eyes tested before the situation gets worst.Communication is the foundation of building self esteem in students, class performance and professional growth. Generally students want to be heard and noticed in the classroom, therefore if the teacher shows interest in the students opinion he/she will feel appreciated and in return it builds the student's self esteem and confidence. Seating arrangement play a key role in classroom communication according to James and Rod in the following quote, "Effective communication in the classroom is essential to the success of both the student and the teacher. The kind of communication as well as the amount of communication that occurs in the classroom has long been thought to be partially a function of seating arrangement of students." Each child must be able to see and interact with the teacher equally. The teacher must also place the students in way that he/she can pass around and check each child's work so non will be left behind. Researchers have found that once a child self esteem and confidence increases automatically their performance and professional growth gradually develops and these values are what make the personality of the child.
