Based on the findings of the mini-research activity outlined in the above pages, the writer of this paper believes that the organization requires a complete revamp of its HR approach. The HR across the M&S should be given a strategic direction only if the key individuals working at the top level of the organization consider its HR as the most valuable resource of the firm and due to this reason invest heavily in its HR. This could be accomplished only when a talented HR team is hired who has been given the desired empowerment to formulate different strategies that could help the firm to engage in strategic HR policies. The HR team should then chalk out different strategies from HR planning, to recruitment and selection, to training and development and motivation and performance management that could give the organization a consistent competitive advantage due to its HR strategies aligned to the broader strategies pursued by the organization. However, to get a desired alignment further investigation in terms of empirical research is needed where efforts should be directed that how M&S could align its HR strategies according to the broader strategic direction of the firm.
